The name for this gorgeous flower has an interesting story. Fairfax Gardening explains that “as the knight and his lover walked along the Danube he picked up blue flowers for his love by the River.” The knight then jumped in to the Danube and was stunned. The knight shouted, “Don’t ever forget me!” while he was throwing flowers to his love. The flower is said to have remained in her hair even after her death. Medieval females wore this flower for its symbolism of love and faithfulness.

Forsythia adds color to the garden. Forsythia produces stunning flowers and will grow quickly if you prune this bright yellow plant.
